Twice-Exceptional

I’ve noticed in the general neurodivergent community, giftedness is often unmentioned. I notice in the gifted community, twice-exceptional doesn’t often get the focus it needs.

There is so much misunderstanding around the lived experience of being gifted. Much like other labels under the neurodivergent umbrella, it looks different for different people.

For twice-exceptional folks, life can be especially complicated and nuanced. Being twice-exceptional or 2e is always on my mind for a variety of reasons.

Today, I wanted to give a shout to those living within these walls (or suspect they are but have never been identified) — walls littered with mixed messaging, conflicting internal and external expectations.
